The Orange Foundation counts on the active participation of employees and retired of the Group France Telecom Orange. Thanks to the different forms of patronage, underprivileged persons (because of health reasons, handicap or economical difficulties) can create ties with others more easily.
initiation workshops for Computing and Office Automation
Since the end of 2010, the Orange digital solidarity program is relying on employees from the Group France Telecom/Orange. Having a valuable expertise on digital, those 2200 volunteers are from different professions: computer scientists, technicians, salespersons, assistants... Out of their work time they assist the members of partner associations (as “The popular help”, “Women’s force”, “Act against exclusion Foundation”, “Solidarity and Futur”...), for the discovery of the diversity of digital uses. Training workshops that last 1H30 are adapted to the concrete needs of the helped persons.
call for solidarity projects
Orange Foundation launches a call for projects two times a year to support employees and retired of the Group France Telecom voluntary involvement for the associations. This call is a part of a group dynamic that allows the Orange Foundation federates all initiatives of solidarity of the Group’s employees.
More than 500 projects were presented during the first two calls for project and 180 were supported. A national network of delegates supports the implementation of the projects.
sponsors and competents
Within the context of the senior plan of sponsorship skills, more than 50 employees of the Group were made available for associations. Michel and Jean-Daniel are a good example of this type of volunteering.
Michel, financial director, sent to France Telecom, is based again in Paris since 2008 to end his career and thanks to the sponsorship skills he is working today “in part-time senior” at the Association Valentin Hauy, a mainstay of the service to blind and partially sighted, of which he is pleased to be the managing director.
Jean-Daniel decides to devote much more time to others. For 6 months, he’s been in the Red Cross as a responsible of the setting up of a computing tool (in 1200 places in France), intended to manage food retailing.
employees united in difficult situations
Volunteer employees of the Group are present in very different circumstances, both in France and abroad.
Since 1992, the French association « Volunteers for persons with autism » (VA) is collecting donations; recruiting and supervising volunteers training them to the solidarity support.
In Poland, there is the Orange Academy and in Africa, the association of orange women of Cameroun…
