Jacques, a volunteer for a sponsorship program

skill phylantropy“I met Partage (share) through a friend who was recruiting sponsors in the street in 2010. She soon convinced me. That’s how I came to sponsor the association IBDAA that works in refugee camps in Dheisheh, near Bethlehem in Palestine. I only make a fairly modest contribution, but they still keep me informed with a regular bulletin. I also visited the camp when I was over there in October 2010. They made me feel very welcome.

In 2015, as I approached retirement, I put in a request to go part-time at Orange, my employer. The company allows volunteer employees to finish their career through a skills phylantropy program. Orange supports associations working for solidarity, local development, healthcare, and children’s welfare. My application, which I filed with the help of Anne-Laure Narcy from Partage, was quickly approved by the Orange Foundation.

Since January 2016, I’ve been working part time for Partage, which is keeping me very busy!
They welcomed me immediately. I help with the development of Partage-Paris, contacts with the Orange Foundation to form sustainable cooperation in countries where Partage and Orange operate, preparations for the Heroes Race on 19 June, communications... the list is long! I’ll be with them for another 18 months until I fully retire, but I’m sure the time will fly by!”
