5 digital centres have opened in Ivory Coast to serve a thousand women!

Following the development of the Villages programme, the first large-scale programme in Côte d’Ivoire, digital centres are now being rolled out in the country. These centres, located in the municipalities of Abobo, Yopougon, Riviera 2, Treichville and Dabou, aim to support and train 1,000 women who have entrepreneurial goals. The IT equipment available in the centres will give them access to a range of training options: literacy, basic IT and financial education.

Contributing to women’s independence

All of the training modules have two main objectives. First, helping women find work through entrepreneurship. Second, promoting digital inclusion by teaching them to use different tools and basic software. The ultimate goal of these objectives is not only to provide women with education, but also to help them become financially independent.

In Côte d’Ivoire, like in all of Africa, women are a major lever for development. And while digital technology is key to many different projects, not all women have access to it. Digital centres are there to help these women achieve their dream of starting a business or achieving financial independence.
