Autism: SanteBD, a site to prepare for visiting healthcare centres

With our support, CoActis Santé has developed SantéBD, an online tool adapted to the needs of people with autism or learning difficulties. The tool aims to make it easier for disabled people to access healthcare.

Simple drawings and words

Using illustrated online information sheets, SantéBD describes services with clear drawings and text that is easy to read and understand. Each information sheet can be personalized and adapted to the user (age, sex, and specific needs: wheelchair user, autistic, partially sighted or blind, deaf, aphasia...).

These information sheets can be used to prepare for consultations, alleviate worries, and to communicate with healthcare professionals.

« Thanks to SantéBD, I can prepare for consultations with my autistic son: he is less worried, and it makes it easier to get him the care he needs! »

A free and customisable tool

SantéBD now includes 40 information sheets, presenting consultations, healthcare services and prevention advice, in 300 different customisable versions. The tool will soon be available in other languages thanks to our support: in English and Romanian by the end of June and in other languages afterwards.

SantéBD is a free, online tool on the site and on the SantéBD mobile application which you can download from Google Play and the Apple Store.

Since it was launched in 2016, over 50,000 information sheets have been downloaded and used by over 100,000 people.
