Call for projects 2017 « Women’s Digital Centers » International for the empowerment of women

We support projects in education and health in countries where the Orange group is present. These actions concern the most vulnerable populations: young people and women.

women digital centers call for projects 2017

In this context, we launched the « Women’s Digital Centers » program in 2015. It aims to foster women’s empowerment through the delivery of basic training modules based on their needs, supported by digital tools. The modules also aim to promote women’s digital inclusion by making them familiar with digital devices and basic software.
All of the training modules are key to encourage the economic independence of the women.

118 Women’s digital centers have been opened or are being launched in 10 countries (Madagascar, Cameroun, Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mali, Egypt, India, Spain and France). This program is designed to deliver training modules to women in disadvantaged situations who normally have limited access to educational opportunities.

Call for projects 2017 « Women’s Digital Centers » International

Today, we are launching a new call for projects to strengthen the « Women’s Digital Centers » program in order to encourage NGOs who fight for women’s social and professional integration. The program will be implemented in rural and urban environments. This call for projects is only open to countries where the Orange group is present.

The main selection criteria are:

  • Ability to accommodate women’s groups on a permanent basis
  • Ability to mobilize women to engage in the activities
  • Teaching staff able to conduct the training modules
  • A room that is already equipped with electrical outlets
  • Security dispositions (ability to lock doors, windows…)
  • Where “urban centers” are concerned, proximity to the Orange company offices is a plus, in order to benefit from the commitment of employee volunteers

Every digital center has a kit which contains :

For a rural area :

  • 10 tablets
  • 1 video projector
  • 2 Raspberry Pi
