Call for projects - Villages and Mother and Child Health Programme 2019

Today, the Orange Foundation “Villages” programme represents 73 villages in 11 countries (Madagascar, Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal, Armenia, Mali, DRC and Guinea, Burkina Faso), with over 300,000 beneficiaries and more than €6.5 million of investment.

The programme consists of the installation of one (or more) drinking water points, a primary care health centre and a school in each village; these have been identified as the three essential requirements for local development.

The Orange Foundation is launching a new call for projects for the “Villages 2019” programme, exclusively reserved for Orange foundations and subsidiaries (in partnership with NGOs and local or international organisations providing services) in the following countries: Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Mali, Madagascar, Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau, Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

This year the “Villages” project is teaming up with a project working to improve “Mother and Child Health” with the intention of providing help and support (infrastructure, equipment, consumables, etc.) directly to mothers and young children in the (old and new) “Villages”. This is in addition to the primary care Health Centre in each of the Villages.
Projects for Mother and Child Health must be implemented and supported by the foundations (or Orange subsidiaries) locally in the same way as for the Villages projects.
