Digital Schools, call for projects 2018

Digital Education is a major area of support of the Orange Foundation in France and abroad.

In this context, the Foundation launched the "Digital Schools" program in 2014 with the objective to provide free educational content in digital format for primary and secondary students in Africa.

This program is available in 13 countries: Botswana, Ivory Coast, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Niger, Madagascar, Senegal, Tunisia, Mali, Guinea, Egypt, Jordan and France – covering 530 schools and benefiting more than 130 000 children. .

Today, we are launching a call for projects to strengthen the “Digital Schools” program in isolated rural areas. This call for projects is only open to Orange Foundations and Subsidiaries, in the countries where the Orange group operates.

This year, the call for projects will support the extension of the program to new schools, as in previous years, as well as the improvement of the program in the schools that are already participating.

Five areas of improvement are eligible for funding in participating schools:

  • adaptation of the digital kit for larger schools in urban areas
  • replacement of defective equipment
  • training teachers and students about how to use the digital kit and its content
  • creation of the country’s own content to add to the digital kit
  • electrification of schools when needed

Submit your application online between January 11th, 2018 and February 15th, 2018. Enter the information by completing the online questionnaire and include all of the documents requested.

The selection committee will be organized at the end of February 2018.
