Froville Festival

Artistic Director: Valérie Godefroy.

Since 1998, Froville, a small village in the south of the Lorraine region, has hosted more than 80,000 music lovers who have had the pleasure of hearing the voices of singers such as Philippe Jaroussky filling the nave of the Romanesque church and enjoying this unique harmony between the voice and the spiritual energy of this thousand-year old site. The exceptional acoustics of this venue are combined with this unique aesthetic to offer a remarkable context for sacred and baroque music.

The Froville festival plans its programme around the voice with a particular enthusiasm for countertenor voices. Froville offers the opportunity to hear distinguished artists in the repertoire, whilst broadcasting rich and varied programmes, and promoting key young artists such as the winners of the Froville international baroque singing competition.

The seasons are filled with magnificent programmes and wonderful surprises.
In 2017, original programmes, major singers, Handel with great pomp, Vivaldi’s Orphelines, the Caravane Baroque ensemble and recitals will thrill the music lovers.
Jordi Savall, Max Emanuel Cencic, the Matheus ensemble, Ann Hallenberg and Pomo d’oro, the High Road to Kilkenny…

A high-quality festival whose musical offering enhanced by the unique acoustics attracts the greatest lovers of remarkable voices.

Project supported from 2016 to 2017.
