In Tours, young people from the Solidarity FabLab create a connected garden

Meet the FunLab team at Viva Technology on 26 May. Come and see the connected garden, and much more.

In Tours, FunLab - the Solidarity FabLab - has developed a professional integration and digital training program called Pass FabCity Maker. The program is designed to allow young people who have dropped out of school to discover digital manufacturing and the maker culture.

Two programs for young people

The Pass FabCity Makers offer two programs:

  • FABCITY, which focuses on creative citizenship and the maker culture on the scale of the city.
  • BIBLIOMAKER, which focuses on the open source culture and production of knowledge.
  • The program encourages young people to think differently about the world and their vocation and helps them to regain confidence and seek training or a profession.

The first positive results

Since it was launched in November, dozens of young people and trainers have taken part in the activities and creation programs with some impressive results, such as the connected garden on show at Viva Technology on 26 May.
