International volunteering week

Orange employees reaffirm their involvement during the international volunteering week, from 5-9 October

The Orange Foundation organises this week to highlight, recognise, encourage and thank the company’s men and women who have made a commitment to help people in difficulty. This week is also an opportunity to host events which present the organisations supported by the Orange Foundation in France and worldwide. Its initiatives focus on digital education, healthcare and access to culture, especially for young people and women. More than 1,800,000 people received support in 2014.

Over 3,000 digital workshops have been organised since 2010.

Employees can also sponsor charitable projects so that they can receive the financial support awarded by regional committees. Since 2010, the Foundation has supported nearly 850 charitable projects which have been presented by more than 2,000 employees involved with an association.

As part of the fourth annual solidarity week, the Orange Foundation is encouraging employee involvement in France by putting employees directly in touch with charity projects via fondationorange.com. Offering different ways to get involved in their city or region as well as providing a point of contact helps transform their good intentions into reality.

1,300 Orange employees have also chosen to provide their skills to charities in France on a part-time basis year-round. This is known as skills philanthropy, and is another way to get involved. It is solely for employees nearing the end of their careers, leading up to their retirement.
