Our new MOOC on modern and contemporary art offers everyone the opportunity to understand the art of our time, on-line, without leaving home and at no charge! In five sequences that are at once instructive and entertaining: assemble, destroy, reproduce, reduce and critique. And with many resources: large numbers of works, expert videos, interviews, activities, quizzes ...
How are works of art made? What gestures and what actions do artists perform to create? Museum curators, specialists, surprise guests accompany this discovery, offering activities, events and opportunities to share with other participants. The experience promises to be even more interesting with many enrolees who enrich the learning of the community by discussing and contributing: there are already more than 19,000 registered today! Facilitators who follow these forums also answer questions or send them to experts if necessary.
Until January 14, 2018 everyone can follow this MOOC, free of charge, 24/24 with all its sequences and facilitation as often as he wishes, at his own pace. The MOOC is accessible via his browser on a computer, tablet or smartphone. The Pompidou Centre issues a certificate to all those who have obtained the five end-of-sequence badges.
Resulting from the association between the Orange Foundation and the Pompidou Centre, this MOOC was also supported by the ERDF (European Fund for Economic and Regional Development) and COMUE (University Paris Lumières - University Paris Nanterre).
5 MOOCs are today to be discovered or rediscovered: modern and contemporary art, the origins of Man, Louis XIV at Versailles, Picasso, Impressionism ... More than 100,000 people have already benefited; 95% of them want to go to the museum! Committed to facilitating access for all to culture, the Orange Foundation promotes new forms of learning that provide access to cultural wealth, such as these cultural MOOCs, or the rebroadcast of operas outdoors and in cinemas.
