Oak Hill Volunteering week results

As part of volunteering week launched by the Orange Foundation on October 9th, our Orange team based in Oak Hill, VA (USA) participated in Our Daily Bread volunteering event. During volunteering week the team collected 370 pounds of donations to this food drive in addition to several gift cards for groceries.

On November 8, a group of Oak Hill Orange volunteers came together to be part of 1,500 volunteers who gathered at the Fairfax High school athletic field to help Our Daily Bread feed local families in need. Wearing red, blue and yellow T-shirts, they created a living design to take a stand against hunger in Fairfax County and were photographed from 100 feet up by Art for the Sky’s Daniel Dancer. But even more importantly, 11,143 pounds of food was collected valued at about $19,150 USD, plus $3,050 USD in grocery-store gift cards and cash donations.
