Among the 21 projects across 9 countries, 5 were chosen by the selection committee at end April. These projects will be funded for the construction of a healthcare centre, a school and a water source in the village.
The 5 projects are located in the following countries: Armenia, Guinea Conakry, Mali, DRC, Tunisia.
- In Armenia, the project in the village of Zangakatun consists of renovating the primary school and equipping the existing computer room. Another important aspect is refitting the clinic to provide the population with easier access to healthcare. Finally, a part of the funding will be devoted to purchasing basic equipment for storing milk.
- In Guinea Conakry, several types of equipment will be funded in the village of Gouécké: 4 classrooms with equipment, toilets, a playground, a healthcare centre and the digging of a well for water, as well as housing for the teachers and nurses.
- In Mali, the construction of a 3-classroom module, an office and a shop is planned. At the same time, the village of Sirimasso will acquire a healthcare centre and a water source.
- In DRC, a school and a healthcare centre are to be developed in the village of Kabweke. The creation of a source of drinking water and a micro-hydraulic power plant will also be funded.
- In Tunisia, the 7 classrooms for the primary school in the village of Garaa are to be renovated and 2 kindergarten classes are to be fitted out. At the same time, the solution for access to water will be delivered.
