Solidarity and employees involved in autism initiatives

In 2015, thanks to the efforts and generosity of Orange employees, over 70 children with autism were able to go on holiday. Employees can be proud of a range of initiatives at all levels in the company which have complemented the work of the Volunteers for People with Autism (VA) charity and its volunteers with over 120 families.

For the past 24 years, the charity Volunteers for People with Autism (VA), has been supporting people with autism and their families. The organization relies on its many volunteers who give their time to take care of people with autism and help them have a good time while also supporting their families.

Orange employees also raise funds through a variety of initiatives. These donations help to fund specialised holidays for people with autism. These fund-raising initiatives includes honey sales on several different Orange Group sites, which raised 3,928 Euros. Another important operation, volunteering week featured a number of different events (jumble sales, tombolas, "doing and giving", solidarity coffees...), where Orange employees re-emphasized their commitment to the cause. These events raised a total of 5,247 Euros. These fund-raising initiatives were a success thanks to our colleagues’ generosity. Altogether, Orange employees raised 9,175 Euros.

In 2015, the VA was also delighted to receive part of the royalties from the books by Stéphane Richard, CEO of the Orange Group and Bruno Mettling, Deputy Director of the group.

There are also the trusty contributors from the Armor Cup regatta in Brittany and the Tacita Med Cup in Marseille. These two sailing events make donations to VA every year, and raised 9,900 Euros in 2015.

Thanks to the support of Orange and its employees, VA received a total of 22,402 Euros in donations in 2015. That is enough to fund 74 days of holidays for people with autism. We can all be very proud of these actions which show the commitment and generosity of Orange employees!
