The Orange Mali Foundation continued its tradition by organising the "Orange Mali Foundation Solidarity Day" on 13 October 2015 at the Bamako International Conference Centre.
On this occasion, the Orange Mali Foundation, a partner of the Ministry for Solidarity, Humanitarian Action and Reconstruction of the North, has distributed significant donations to 56 underprivileged organisations, childcare and disability associations, amounting to more than 40 million CFA Francs. The donations include food, treated mosquito nets, books, multi-functional mills, motor pumps for irrigation, motor tricycles for disabled people and market gardening kits.
The theme: "solidarity, a factor in reconciliation, development and consolidation of peace". This day allowed the foundation to reiterate its support for State efforts to fight against poverty and social exclusion during this month of sharing and mutual cooperation.
As a reminder, the Orange Mali Foundation has honoured all the commitments made during the 2014 event, providing more than 400 million CFA Francs in investment to health and education organisations; it already intends to carry out major projects in the next few months which will benefit a wide range of people in the fields of health, education and female empowerment. These projects will include:
- the construction of a drop-in centre for women living with fistula at the Sikasso hospital
- the fitting and furnishing of a neonatology unit at the Point E hospital
- the construction of 2 Village projects in Binatomobougou (Markala) and Fignan (Koulikoro), in collaboration with local authorities
The ceremony was attended by the Minister for Solidarity, Humanitarian Action and Reconstruction of the North, Ministers for Health and National Education, the Director of USAID in Mali and various other partners.
Clearly, these operations and projects would not have succeeded without the commitment of our volunteers. Their efficiency and support ensure that donations are successfully distributed to the beneficiaries.
