The "Together for youth integration" programme

At the Orange Foundation, we want to help young people use digital technology as a springboard into the world of work. In 2016, we are stepping up a gear with the "Together for youth integration" programme: a project to put young people who are getting into work in contact with Orange employees. In 2017, together with the 447 Local Missions, we train 10,000 young people free of charge throughout France!

Young people sometimes need help with digital technology too! Our role is to help them adopt professional digital behaviour. This means, teaching them to look for a job, to use digital tools at work or even to envisage the possibility of a job in digital technology.

Digital technology training courses in under-privileged areas

In 2010, our charity Orange Solidarity set up digital training workshops in under-privileged areas, to facilitate the social and professional integration of young people. Between 2013 and 2014 we launched a call for projects with local organisations and supported 50 projects in France. In 2016 we wanted to get more involved in supporting young people with the programme "Together for youth integration".

The idea behind the programme is simple: capitalise on the involvement of our employees to strengthen our digital education initiatives aimed at young people. We are therefore asking Orange employees to train young people in the professional use of digital technology in order to facilitate their professional integration.

Our volunteers currently take on young people aged 16 to 25 years to share their experience and their professional knowledge of digital technology: certification of basic knowledge, online CVs, use of social networks, professional applications, engineering, discovery of digital technology careers and more.

Demystifying the business world

Although technical knowledge is very important for professional integration, the human aspect of sharing experience is a determining factor. Our employees provide concrete answers to the questions that young people looking for a career ask themselves. They help them choose a career and demystify the business world. By sharing their day-to-day with them, they teach them how to behave in business.

In France, we have already trained 8,000 young people in digital technology to facilitate their professional integration - how many will it be tomorrow?
