Verdi’s famous opera will be broadcast to over 400 cinemas in the UGC network as well as independent cinemas in France and internationally (with subtitles). The extraordinary cast includes Anna Netrebko (in the role of Leonora) Ekaterina Semenchuk (the gipsy Azucena), Marcelo Alvarez (Manrico) and Ludovic Tézier (Il Conte de Luna). It will be directed by Alex Ollé.

Verdi’s Il Trovatore will be filmed and broadcast as part of the audiovisual season at the Opéra de Paris, which broadcasts ten operas and ballets every season. These broadcasts will enable 100,000 viewers to experience the thrill of live opera. These films and broadcasts have been made with our support. We live-stream operas to a network of cinemas (including outdoor cinemas) to make them accessible to the widest possible audience.

The next Opéra National de Paris cinema live-streams will take place on 17 March at 7.30 pm with Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and The Nutcracker and on 26 April at 7.30 pm, with Verdi’s Rigoletto.
