For its 9th edition, the WikiChallenge for African Schools, organized in partnership with Wiki in Africa, received submissions from students in 15 countries, including two newcomers.

What is the WikiChallenge?
This community writing competition is aimed at children aged 9 to 13 who attend Orange Foundation Digital Schools. This year, the following countries participated: Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea, Jordan, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Tunisia. Pupils from Jordan and the Central African Republic have joined their fellow students to publish articles describing their daily lives, history, traditions, and local heritage. Children from Africa and the Middle East can produce texts in English, Arabic or French, allowing as many classes as possible to take part.
Well done to the 46 classes that won prizes, including 4 which also received international awards.
