We have opened the first Women’s Digital Centre in Casablanca, Morocco, to train women without qualifications or a job.
They can receive long-term digital training (6 months to 1 year). Some women will learn the basics: writing, calculation, using a computer, a tablet... whilst others will receive training in certain software and using the web. Thanks to this programme, the trained women can access paid work, or even retrain in a different industry.
The Women’s Digital Centre is located at the Association Solidarité Féminine (ASF) premises, an association which offers assistance to single mothers. ASF was selected during our 2018 call for projects to become the first Moroccan association to have a Digital Centre.
The premises were fully renovated, then equipped with all the equipment needed for training (computers, tablets, digital tools, etc.).
The tablets offer a wide range of educational content adapted to the teaching needed by these women for their training.
