Covid-19: Poland takes action

In all the African and European countries within our footprint, our aid has supported local emergency measures since March:
In Poland these measures were deployed for the most fragile populations by NGOs and Orange volunteers, focusing on healthcare and online education.
We shine a spotlight on three solidarity initiatives.

COVID1

Material and human resources to equip hospitals, charities and orphanages with protective equipment.

240 Orange volunteers are making fabric masks, protective visors and supplying disinfectant. Through this initiative the Orange Foundation is meeting some of the 20 weekly requests from associations.
The Foundation’s funds are being used to provide FFP2 and FFP3 masks, gloves, and first-aid medication.

COVID2

Digital equipment and e-learning applications so children in orphanages can access education.

Since 12 March, 200 to 250 children in orphanages can access their schools’ educational programmes. The Foundation provided 21 laptops, 3 PCs, 5 printers, 2 scanners, 69 tablets with headsets...

covid3

Helping children and teenagers experiencing psychological distress.

The Empowering Children Foundation has set up an anonymous phone and email support hotline backed by the Orange Foundation as the pandemic is aggravating mental and psychological disorders.
The hotline for young people and their parents received 5,239 calls in March, 1,145 emails and led to 89 life-saving interventions.
